Access to Information Request - COVID-19 Testing and Equipment

The UIC has distributed an Access to Information Request to the Ministry of Health, a branch of the Government of Jamaica in relation to COVID-19 testing procedures and equipment.

 

 

The UIC has distributed an Access to Information Request to the Ministry of Health, a branch of the Government of Jamaica in relation to COVID-19 testing procedures and equipment, dated January 19, 2021. The letter reads as follows: Attn. Mrs. Vinnese Dias,  Ministry of Health  10A Chelsea Ave. Under the Access to Information Act of 2002 giving Jamaican citizens the legal right to access some official government documents. I hereby give notice of my intent to assert this right conferred under said legislation. In the interest of the vital and fundamental democratic principles to be upheld by this act. I hereby make the following request for information held by your office.  1. A listing of the ALL TR-PCR test machines being used by the Ministry. Including the make and model as well as the manufacturer recommended cycle of these machines 2. Documentation of the Ministry’s approved cycle threshold for positivity 3. Statistics on ‘false positive’ results locally from the TR-PCR testing for SARS-CoV-2/Coronavirus testing 4. A summary of the number of positive cases locally identified through serologic testing 5. A summary of the number of positive cases locally from whom the Coronavirus was isolated Trequested information is acceptable in electronic form and should be directed to us.
